FOR THE LOVE OF WORDS
Poetry and Creative Writing Workshops
This is where Literature slams head-on into Performance Art.
This is where Shakespeare, Chaucer and Sylvia Plath meet up with
the likes of Bob Dylan, Jack White and Lauryn Hill for some swordplay.
This is where you find your voice.
This is where YOU become the author, the editor,
the director, and the performer.
This is where you get at the heart of everything that matters.
This is where you store your truth.
“Poetry is nearer to vital truth than history.” ~Plato
Raundi K. Moore-Kondo is a wife, mother, teacher, poet and writer whose motto is “to do no harm”. She believes in giving kids a chance to love writing before anyone can give them reasons to hate it. Her uniquely designed workshops have helped everyone from preschoolers to published authors get their stories onto the page. Several of her creative writing students have been accepted to the Creative Writing Conservatory at Orange County High School of the Arts. Raundi was especially proud to facilitate a workshop at “Awakening The Muse: 2011 Women’s Retreat.” and the 2011 CHN, HSC and Good Vibrations Conferences. She has published an anthology of poems written by her students called Our Monday Grind: The Further Adventures of the Stone Temple Poets & Their Pet Sock Monkey . She will be releasing a collection of her own original poetry and prose in 2012. She has been a featured poet at many of the longest running poetry readings in Southern California as well as a guest on KFPK’s Poet’s Café. She has been published in the critically acclaimed Don’t Blame The Ugly Mug Anthology on Tebot Bach and in Aim For The Head: A Zombie Hunter’s Guide to Poetry on Write Bloody Press. She is especially honored to be one of Write Bloody Publishing’s infamous “Dirty Dozen” workshop writers. When she’s not playing bass in her all-girl rock band or body boarding, you can catch her performing her poetry at an open mic near you.
